Publication Ethics

Dhammadhara Journal of Buddhist Ideology for Development (DJBID) has established a Publication Ethics based on https://publicationethics.org/. It recognizes the importance and maintains ethical standards for the publication of academic works at the international level. Therefore, it has defined the roles and responsibilities of each relevant party to strictly adhere to. The details are as follows:

 

Publication Ethics

  1. The articles, texts, illustrations, and tables published in the journal are the personal opinions of the authors. The editorial board does not necessarily agree with them and is not responsible for any of them. They are the sole responsibility of the authors.
  2. If the reader realizes that any article has been copied or cited without reference or misleadingly claimed to be the work of the author, please notify the editorial board immediately.
  3. All articles are reviewed and evaluated by the editorial board.
  4. Articles from internal and external authors are reviewed and evaluated by at least 2 external or internal qualified persons.
  5. Articles from both internal and external authors are reviewed and evaluated in a double-blind manner.

 

Ethics of the editor 

  1. The editor must supervise, monitor, supervise, and evaluate the operations to ensure they are in line with the objectives of the Journal of Buddhist Development Studies. From the first step in screening articles to meet the journal's scope, citation criteria, and other requirements, including certification of research quality, academic work, international ethical standards, and protection of intellectual property from business needs.
  2. Editor  must not disclose information about authors and article assessors to unrelated parties during the article assessment period. The Journal of Buddhist Development Studies has set criteria for article quality assessment for qualified persons in a double-blind manner.
  3. Editor must not publish articles that have been published elsewhere. Plagiarism must be checked seriously by examining the assessment results from the Copy Cat program of the ThaiJo 2.0 online article response system at a level not exceeding 25% to ensure that articles published in the journal do not plagiarize the work of others. If plagiarism is found to exceed the specified level, the assessment process must be stopped and the main author of the article must be contacted immediately to request clarification for “accepting” or “rejecting” the publication of that article.
  4. Editor must not have any conflicts of interest with authors and qualified article assessors in order to strictly maintain ethics and work ethics.
  5. Editor able to explain or provide information about the peer review process.
  6. If there is any misconduct after the review process, the editor must retract the article with clear evidence that can be proven. This revocation must be made known to readers and other databases.

 

Ethics of Reviewers

  1. The reviewer should take into account the quality of the article according to academic principles and international ethics as the main principle, considering the importance, novelty, value of the content that will be beneficial to the academic community, the public, and society by using expertise to analyze the quality and intensity of the work, without bias or personal opinions that are not supported by academic data as criteria for decision-making, and without any conflict of interest with the article writer.
  2. The reviewer must enter their academic opinions in the evaluation form in the journal's online article response system as an academic, clear, and free from bias, and must submit the article evaluation results within the time frame specified by the editorial team.
  3. The reviewer must not use any part of the information in the article they are reviewing as their own work, except for referring to the article after the article they are reviewing has been published.
  4. The reviewer must maintain confidentiality and not disclose any part of the information in the article during the article evaluation period to other persons.
  5. In the event that the reviewer finds that the article being evaluated is an article that is similar to or duplicates other works, The reviewer must immediately inform the editorial board by selecting the recommendation in the review process as “Reject the article” and specifying the reason in the “Other recommendations” box.
  6. The reviewer must not seek benefits from the academic work that they have assessed.

 

Author Ethics

  1. Authors must certify that the article submitted to the Journal of Buddhist Development Studies has not been published or is currently being assessed by qualified persons for consideration for publication in other journals.
  2. In the case of articles submitted by the authors that are translations of foreign language articles, the authors must certify that the submitted work is translated into Thai by the native authors and the publisher.
  3. Authors must include their names and co-authors (if any) in the article file submitted to the online article response system ThaiJo 2.0 of the Journal of Buddhist Development Studies.
  4. Authors must strictly comply with the criteria of the Journal of Buddhist Development Studies, both in terms of document organization format and citation criteria, which can be studied in the “Guidelines for Authors”.
  5. Authors must not violate or copy the work of others as their own. The journal will check using the Copy Cat program in the Thaijo 2.0 online article submission system, which is set to no more than 25% redundancy (but will be exempted if the redundant content comes from Buddhist scriptures).
  6. Authors must cite the content of their articles, including text, images, and tables, to prevent copyright infringement of others. The source of the information must be identified by referring to the footnote and categorized in the bibliography according to the referencing criteria of the Journal of Buddhist Development Studies. If copyright infringement is found, the journal will immediately withdraw the article from publication. If a lawsuit is filed, the journal will not be responsible and the responsibility will be the sole responsibility of the author.
  7. If the author's research involves the use of animals, participants, or volunteers, and there are issues that are sensitive to the data provider, the author should conduct the research in strict accordance with research ethics.
  8. Authors must not report inaccurate data, create false data, distort, embellish, or cut content to be consistent with the conclusion. When the author receives the results of the article quality assessment from the qualified person, they must revise and edit according to the recommendations of the qualified person and return it to the editorial board within the specified time frame.
  9. If there is a source of funding to support the research or public benefits, indicate it in the first footnote of the article.
  10. Authors cannot take articles published in the Journal of Buddhist Development Studies and edit, adapt, or translate them into other languages ​​to present in other journals and present the articles in various formats.
