A MODEL FOR STUDENT CARE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM USING THE PODCA STEPS MANAGEMENT PROCESS AT NAKHON SAWAN SCHOOL UNDER THE NAKHON SAWAN SECONDARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to: (1) study the current conditions, problems, needs, and guidelines for management; (2) develop a model; (3) study the results of using the model; and (4) evaluate the administrative model of the student care management system through the PODCA STEPS management process of Nakhonsawan School under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office Nakhonsawan.

          The research was conducted in four stages: Stage (1) studying the current conditions, problems, needs, and management guidelines; Stage (2) developing the model; Stage (3)studying the results of the model implementation; and Stage 4) evaluating the model. The research instruments included questionnaires, interviews, workshops, and expert-based seminars. The data were obtained through purposive sampling, consisting of 5 school administrators, 14 school board members, 81 teachers, 162 students from Grades 7–12 (Mathayom 1–6), and 162 parents of students from Grades 7–12 in the academic year 2024 (B.E. 2567), totaling 424 participants. The data were analyzed using the Mean (X̄) and Standard Deviation (S.D.).

          The research results revealed that: (1) the overall conditions, problems, and needs of student care management were at a high level. The appropriate management guidelines comprised six components: principles, objectives, input factors, management processes, evaluation, and success conditions; (2) the developed model consisted of seven components: principles, objectives, input factors, scope of work, management process, evaluation of outputs and outcomes, and success conditions. The model was evaluated as being at the highest level of accuracy and appropriateness; (3) the results of model implementation were at a high level in both management efficiency and stakeholder satisfaction; and (4) the evaluation results showed that the feasibility and usefulness of the model and its manual were at a high level. These findings indicate that the PODCA STEPS management model is appropriate and can be effectively applied to the administration of the student care management system.
