INVESTIGATE STRATEGIES FOR PROMOTING THE CAPACITY OF THE COVID-19 AT-RISK GROUP AT THE COMMUNITY FIELD HOSPITAL OF WAT TRAI PHUM, NONBURI SUBDISTRICT, SAHATSAKHAN DISTRICT, KALASIN PROVINCE

Abstract

The objectives of this research were: 1) to examine the problems and conditions of the COVID-19 risk group in the community field hospital at Wat Traiphum, Non Buri Subdistrict, Sahatsakhan District, Kalasin Province 2) to study the application of Buddhist principles in enhancing the potential for rehabilitation among individuals at risk of COVID-19 infection 3) to explore approaches for strengthening the capacity of the at-risk group to cope with the COVID-19 pandemic. This study employed a qualitative research methodology, involving documentary research, field data collection, and in-depth interviews. The collected data were analyzed and presented using descriptive analysis to synthesize findings in accordance with the research objectives.


The research results found that:


  1. 1. The problems and conditions of the COVID-19 risk group included issues related to social quality of life, public health, economic hardship, and both physical and mental health.

  2. 2. The Buddhist principles applied for enhancing potential and rehabilitation of individuals at risk of COVID-19 infection comprised measures for maintaining physical and mental well-being through walking meditation, chanting, sitting meditation, mindfulness practice, listening to Dhamma teachings, and self-care guidance. These practices aimed to encourage living with mindfulness, performing one’s duties with wisdom, and avoiding negligence in daily life.

  3. 3. The approaches for strengthening the capacity of at-risk groups to cope with the COVID-19 pandemic emphasized proactive surveillance and prevention measures, timely medical treatment, and equitable access to healthcare services.
