POLITICAL PARTICIPATION OF CITIZENS IN THE OPERATIONS OF DONYOR SUBDISTRICT ADMINISTRATIVE ORGANIZATION, MUEANG DISTRICT, NAKHON NAYOK PROVINCE

Abstract

This research aims to 1. Study the political participation of the public in the operations of the Don Yaw Subdistrict Administrative Organization. 2. Compare the political participation of the public in the operations of the Don Yaw Subdistrict Administrative Organization. 3. Apply Buddhist principles to promote the political participation of the public in the operations of the Don Yaw Subdistrict Administrative Organization. The research employs a mixed-methods approach. The quantitative research uses a questionnaire as a data collection tool, with a sample group consisting of 363 individuals aged 18 and over in the Don Yaw Subdistrict. The statistical methods used for data analysis include frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. Hypothesis testing is conducted using t-tests and F-tests, as well as one-way ANOVA. The qualitative research employs interviews with 9 key informants, and the data is analyzed through descriptive content analysis.

The research results found that 1) The political participation of the public in the operations of the Don Yaw Subdistrict Administrative Organization is generally at a high level. When considering each aspect, the one with the highest average is related to the conduct of elections, followed by political decision-making, and the aspect with the lowest average is related to participation in election campaigns. 2) Applying the principles of Buddhism to promote political participation of the public in the operations of the Don Yaw Subdistrict Administrative Organization according to the Seven Conditions of Non-Disruption (Aparihaniyadhammā) includes: 1) Regular meetings to brainstorm and develop the local area. 2) Coordinated attendance at meetings and timely adjournment. 3) Compliance with rules and regulations, advising members to adhere to the law. 4) Respecting elders and accepting advice from senior members. 5) Not harassing subordinates and refraining from showing anger in meetings. 6) Respecting and honoring sacred places and objects, supporting the exchange of opinions. 7) Intending to support and promote individuals who perform well and participate in activities to protect interests.
