The People’s Participation in the Prevention of Drug-Related Problems in Pathumthani Province

Abstract

The objective of this study were to study 1) level of participation of Peoples in Saraburi Province in addressing drug-related issues, and 2) the factors influencing their involvement in this prevention effort. This study employed a quantitative research approach. Data were gathered from 400 peoples residing in Pathumthani Province. The descriptive statistics used in the data analysis included percentage, mean, and standard deviation. Furthermore, the t-test and F-test were used for the hypothesis testing.

The study’s findings reveal a high level of participation among peoples in Pathumthani province across all four key aspects including 1) decision-making, 2) activity implementation, 3) benefit reception, and 4) follow-up and evaluation, the results of testing the hypothesis of participation in preventing drug-related issues among peoples in Pathumthani Province found that gender, age, education and work experience were no different at the statistically significant level of 0.05. Nonetheless, it is recommended that officials overseeing policy-based operations concerning drug prevention among Peoples in Pathumthani Province intensify efforts to bolster engagement. Additionally, providing tailored resources that align with specific contexts and anticipate future changes in drug prevention strategies is advised to ensure sustained effectiveness in addressing drug-related issues, both presently and in the future
