DEVELOPMENT OF A WORKLOAD DATABASE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR ACADEMIC STAFF AT THE SCHOOL OF LIBERAL ARTS, UNIVERSITY OF PHAYAO

Abstract
This research was conducted to develop a database system to improve the efficiency of academic staff workload information management by organizing data systematically, reducing data redundancy, and facilitating data retrieval and report generation. The objectives of this research were: (1) to develop an academic staff workload database system for the School of Liberal Arts, University of Phayao; (2) to study the efficiency of the academic staff workload database system; and (3) to examine user satisfaction with the academic staff workload database system. The research employed a research and development methodology. The population consisted of administrators, academic staff, and support staff of the School of Liberal Arts, University of Phayao, a total of 70 people. The samples were selected through purposive sampling and comprised 3 experts for content validity assessment, 5 experts for system efficiency evaluation, 30 users for system testing, and 70 users for satisfaction evaluation. The research instruments comprised the academic staff workload database system, a system efficiency evaluation form, and a user satisfaction questionnaire. The research instruments were validated for content validity, with an Item-Objective Congruence (IOC) index of 1.00 for all items. Data were collected through system testing and questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics, including frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation.
The research findings revealed that (1) the developed academic staff workload database system supported the systematic storage, management, and processing of workload information, including data entry, data retrieval, report generation, and user access rights management; (2) the overall efficiency of the system was at the highest level; and (3) overall user satisfaction with the system was at the highest level.
