GUIDELINES FOR IMPLEMENTING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) TO DEVELOP SMART SCHOOLS IN EXTRA-LARGE SCHOOLS UNDER THE UDON THANI SECONDARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE
Main Article Content
Abstract
The objectives of this research were: 1) to investigate the current conditions, desirable conditions, and priority needs for the implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) toward Smart Schools in extra-large schools; and 2) to develop guidelines for the implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) toward Smart Schools in extra-large schools. This study employed a mixed-methods research design conducted in two phases. Phase 1 aimed to examine the current conditions, desirable conditions, and priority needs for AI implementation toward Smart Schools in extra-large schools. The population consisted of 143 school administrators and heads of learning areas in extra-large schools under the Udon Thani Secondary Educational Service Area Office during the 2025 academic year. The research instrument was a five-point rating scale questionnaire with a reliability coefficient of 0.98. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and Modified Priority Needs Index. Phase 2 was to find guidelines for AI implementation toward Smart Schools using Multi Attribute Consensus Reaching (MACR) with 9 stakeholder informant group experts by purposive selection. The instrument was a 5-point rating scale assessment (scoring from 0 to 100). Data were analyzed using mean to determine the level of importance, and range to evaluate consensus and concordance among the experts. The findings were summarized and presented through descriptive analysis.
The results of the research found that: 1) the overall current condition was at a moderate level, while the overall desirable condition was at the highest level. The overall essential needs numbers were between 0.436 – 0.697. 2) Guidelines for Implementing Artificial Intelligence (AI) to Develop Smart Schools in Extra-Large Schools under the Udon Thani Secondary Educational Service Area Office comprised 35 guidelines categorized into five aspects: (1) administration (7 guidelines), (2) teachers and personnel (7 guidelines), (3) participation and teamwork (7 guidelines), (4) technology and innovation (7 guidelines), and (5) data measurement and evaluation (7 guidelines). All proposed guidelines were evaluated at the highest level in terms of appropriateness, congruence, usefulness, and feasibility.
