CITIZENSHIP DEVELOPMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE 7TH PRINCIPLE OF THE ARMY AFFILIATED FORCES OF THE ARMY IN PHRA NAKHON DISTRICT, BANGKOK

Abstract

This research aimed to: 1) study citizenship based on the Seven Sappurisadhamma principles of Royal Thai Army personnel in Phra Nakhon District, Bangkok; 2) analyze the application of the Seven Sappurisadhamma principles to citizenship development among personnel of different positions within the Royal Thai Army in Phra Nakhon District, Bangkok; and 3) propose guidelines for developing citizenship based on the Seven Sappurisadhamma principles of Royal Thai Army personnel in Phra Nakhon District, Bangkok. Twenty gender-identified individuals were interviewed in Ban Phaeo District, Samut Sakhon Province. The research instrument used was in-depth interviews. Data were analyzed, categorized, and summarized in descriptive text.

The research findings revealed that: 1) Citizenship based on the Seven Sappurisadhamma principles promotes responsibility and self-reliance, reduces reliance on foreign countries, respects rights and differences under human rights law, and requires transparency, equality, and cooperation among all parties to build stability and public trust. 2) The application of the Seven Sappurisadhamma principles helps develop thinking, discipline, and balanced coexistence. Personnel must be self-aware, rational, and community-aware, reducing conflict and promoting organizational unity, creating “citizen soldiers” with morality and public spirit. 3) Development recommendations in the Phra Nakhon District area should adapt Dhamma principles to suit the social and cultural context, aiming to create a workforce with discipline, knowledge, and respect for others, emphasizing training in conjunction with Dhamma principles for sustainable development. The goal is soldiers who serve the people and create national security.
