THE IMPLEMENTATION OF ENGAGING STORYTELLING ACTIVITIES COMBINED WITH CREATIVE SCIENCE CRAFT MEDIA TO ENHANCE STORYTELLING SKILLS IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION

Abstract

This research aimed to examine and compare the storytelling abilities of early childhood children before and after participating in engaging storytelling activities integrated with Creative Science Craft media. The target group consisted of 13 early childhood learners. The research instruments included a set of storytelling activity plans incorporating Creative Science Craft media, and a storytelling ability assessment specifically designed for young children. Data were analyzed using mean statistics.

The findings revealed that all participants demonstrated improved storytelling abilities following the intervention. This increase in performance may be attributed to the experiential learning design, which allowed children to engage in hands-on activities, actively participate in both storytelling and simple scientific experiments, and practice summarizing story content independently. The playful and interactive nature of the storytelling activities also contributed to greater enthusiasm and interest in the learning content among the children.
