GUIDELINES FOR SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT OF THA KHLONG MUNICIPALITY KHLONG LUANG DISTRICT PATHUM THANI PROVINCE

Abstract

The purpose of this research objectives: 1) to study the problems of solid waste management of Tha Khlong Municipality, Khlong Luang District, Pathum Thani Province. 2) to find a guideline for solid waste management of Tha Khlong Municipality, Khlong Luang District, Pathum Thani Province. This research is a qualitative research with 17 key informants. It involves in-depth interviews, data analysis by synthesizing, interpreting, and drawing conclusions on important issues, and compiling the results of the study in a descriptive manner.

          The research results found that:

          1) The problem of waste management in Tha Khlong Municipality, Khlong Luang District, Pathum Thani Province, found that there were many hidden populations in the area who did not feel love or possessive of the area, resulting in problems of polluted water, garbage falling on the side, and areas where garbage was illegally dumped more and more. People still lacked knowledge and understanding of waste separation, resulting in a large amount of garbage, problems of garbage remaining in the community, causing the garbage to rot, creating a disturbing smell and potentially becoming a source of disease. There was a lack of personnel to collect garbage and drive garbage trucks, and there were insufficient garbage bins.

          2) The waste management guidelines of Tha Khlong Municipality, Khlong Luang District, Pathum Thani Province found that the municipality campaigned and publicized to provide knowledge to the public about waste separation and reusing recycled waste. It promoted personnel and the public to develop their potential in waste management. The municipality recruited additional personnel suitable for each position, purchased additional garbage trucks to be sufficient for garbage collection, maintained them in good condition and ready for use, and provided garbage bins sufficient for the public’s needs.
