THE EVALUATION OF GOOD CITIZENS IN DEMOCRATIC WAY PROJECT TRIAM UDOM SUKSA SCHOOL OF THE SOUTH THE SECONDARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE NAKHON SI THAMMARAT

Abstract

This research aimed to evaluate the “Democratic Citizenship Project”                     at the Southern Preparatory School under the jurisdiction of the Secondary Educational Service Area Office Nakhon Si Thammarat. The evaluation was conducted using Kirkpatrick’s four-level model, focusing on: 1) Reaction,                     2) Learning, 3) Behavior, and 4) Results. The target group included 2 teachers and 30 students. The research instruments used were questionnaires, tests, and interviews. The statistical methods employed in data analysis included mean, standard deviation, t-test, and content analysis.

The research findings were as follows:

1. Reaction Level The overall reaction evaluation was at the highest level. When considered by aspect, the highest mean score was in the appropriateness of the project, particularly regarding the relevance and usefulness of the training topics. This was followed by aspects such as the quality of speakers, venue, audiovisual equipment, training atmosphere, and duration. The lowest mean score was in the content aspect, specifically the completeness of the training materials.


2. Learning Level The learning outcomes of participants in the Democratic Citizenship Project at the Southern Preparatory School showed a statistically significant improvement. Participants scored significantly higher on the post - training test compared to the pre-training test at the .05 level.


3. Behavior Level Regarding behavioral change, the top three highest - rated aspects were Leadership, specifically in accepting others’ opinions and prioritizing the common good. Knowing how to be both a good leader and follower and understanding one's role. The lowest average scores were found in Being a model student, particularly self - discipline. Volunteering for the common good, particularly participation in ideas, actions, and generosity with proper cultural manners.


4. Results Level The overall evaluation of project outcomes was at the highest level. The aspect with the highest average score was moral respect, specifically in respecting others’ rights and honoring national institutions including the Nation, Religion, and Monarchy. This was followed by mutual respect in physical actions, speech, and opinions, as well as unity, demonstrated through cooperative work, avoidance of conflict, patience, and harmony. The lowest mean score was in unity, particularly in the area of balancing interests with a focus on the collective benefit.
