DEVELOPMENT OF AN ONLINE MAINTENANCE NOTIFICATION SYSTEM FOR THE FACULTY OF MEDICINE, PRINCE OF SONGKLA UNIVERSITY

Abstract

This research aimed to 1) develop an online maintenance request system for the Faculty of Medicine, Prince of Songkla University and 2) evaluate the system’s operational effectiveness. The study involved a sample of 40 participants, comprising support staff, maintenance coordinators, and repair technicians. Research instruments included the online maintenance request system developed by the researchers and a system effectiveness evaluation form. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics: mean and standard deviation.

The research results revealed that 1) the developed system effectively met its objectives and the users’ needs. It provided user-friendly functionality and significantly reduced the time required for maintenance requests for all involved parties—end users, administrative staff, and technicians. 2) The evaluation results indicated that the system’s performance was rated at the highest level (x̄ = 4.52, SD = 0.61). Other aspects such as design, service quality, usability, and overall satisfaction were rated at a high level (x̄ = 4.39, SD = 0.72; x̄ = 4.46, SD = 0.76; x̄ = 4.38, SD = 0.94; x̄ = 4.48, SD = 0.72, respectively).

In conclusion, the developed system effectively addresses the practical needs of personnel within the Faculty of Medicine and offers substantial benefits for the management of internal maintenance operations.
