Abstract

Theravada Buddhism is one of the major sects of Buddhism, which plays an important role in Southeast Asian regions such as Thailand, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Laos, and Cambodia. The teachings of Theravada Buddhism focus on preserving the original principles found in the Tripitaka, which is considered a pure source of teachings and the foundation of the practice to end suffering and attain Nirvana.

The book "Theravada Buddhism" by Professor Dr. Watchara Ngamjitcharoen is an academic work that aims to present the concepts, teachings, and philosophies of Theravada Buddhism in depth. The aim is to allow readers to systematically understand the main ideological structure of Theravada Buddhism, as well as to connect these teachings with modern philosophical and scientific concepts.
