COMPONENTS AND GUIDELINES FOR A HAPPY ORGANIZATION IN PRIVATE HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS IN THE BANGKOK METROPOLITAN AREA AND SURROUNDING PROVINCES FOR UNIVERSITY REFORM

Abstract
This research aims to: 1) Study the meaning and components of a happy organization in private higher education institutions in the Bangkok Metropolitan Area and surrounding provinces; and 2) Develop and propose guidelines for creating an environment conducive to the happiness of staff and students in private higher education institutions by studying documents and empirical data from in-depth interviews with 10 successful vocational education administrators, followed by the development of a Likert scale questionnaire on the concept of a happy organization, surveyed among 400 participants from 18 institutions. The research uses a mixed-methods approach, combining both quantitative and qualitative research, with exploratory factor analysis, data triangulation methods, and group discussion to validate the proposed guidelines.The findings revealed that: 1) The components of a happy organization consist of 10 elements, emphasizing the importance of health in the organization; and 2) Creating an environment conducive to happiness for staff and students in private higher education institutions should focus on the development of both physical and mental health, fostering good social relationships, promoting learning, enhancing understanding of diversity, and improving overall quality of life through appropriate and innovative management practices. This development not only enhances the happiness of staff and students but also contributes to the success and sustainability of the institution in the long term.
