ORGANIZATION OF MORAL STORYTELLING EXPERIENCES TO PROMOTE SELF-DISCIPLINE IN EARLY CHILDHOOD PUPILLSKINDERGARTEN 3RD YEAR, WAT THOT SCHOOL (CHERD UDOM RATTANA RAT BAMRUNG) CHACHOENGSAO PROVINCE

Abstract

The objectives of this quasi-experimental research were: 1) to study the organization of moral storytelling experiences to promote self-discipline among early childhood students in Kindergarten 3 at Wat Thot School (Choet Udom Rattanarat Bamrung), Chachoengsao Province, and 2) to compare the progress in self-discipline of children after participating in the storytelling experiences. The sample group consisted of 25 Kindergarten 3 students, selected through purposive sampling. The research employed 8 moral storytelling experience plans, implemented over a period of 4 weeks. The research instruments included the storytelling experience plans, a self-discipline behavioral observation form, and an early childhood development assessment form. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the paired sample t-test.

The findings revealed that after participating in the moral storytelling experiences, the students demonstrated significantly higher levels of self-discipline at the .05 level. Improvements were observed in following rules, self-control, and responsibility. These results indicate that moral storytelling is an effective method for promoting self-discipline among early childhood learners.

It is recommended that early childhood educators incorporate moral storytelling into classroom activities on a continuous basis in order to foster appropriate behaviors and instill desirable characteristics in children from a young age.
