Main Article Content
Abstract
This research aimed to: 1) examine the effect of fashion consciousness on purchase intention toward fast fashion clothing, 2) examine the effect of social influence on purchase intention toward fast fashion clothing, 3) examine the effect of hedonic shopping value on purchase intention toward fast fashion clothing, and 4) examine the effect of fashion-related fear of missing out (FOMO) on purchase intention toward fast fashion clothing among consumers in Bangkok Metropolitan Area. This study employed a quantitative survey research method. The target population was 400 consumers with fast fashion purchasing experience in Bangkok Metropolitan Area, selected through convenience sampling. The research instrument was a questionnaire with an overall reliability of 0.94. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation, as well as inferential statistics via multiple regression analysis.
The research findings revealed that: 1) Fashion consciousness had a statistically significant negative influence on purchase intention at the 0.05 level (Beta = -0.112, p < 0.05), as consumers with high fashion consciousness prioritized uniqueness and product quality, which reduced their intention to buy mass-produced fast fashion clothing. 2) Social influence had the highest statistically significant positive influence on purchase intention at the 0.05 level (Beta = 0.485, p < 0.05). 3) Hedonic shopping value had a statistically significant positive influence on purchase intention at the 0.05 level (Beta = 0.241, p < 0.05). 4) Fashion-related fear of missing out (FOMO) had the second highest statistically significant positive influence on purchase intention at the 0.05 level (Beta = 0.315, p < 0.05).
