STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT FOR THE SURVIVAL OF BUSINESS ORGANIZATIONS

Abstract
Strategic planning refers to defining the strategy and effectiveness of a system based on key objectives pursued by managers for the benefit of stakeholders. This is achieved by considering both external and internal resources and controls that can be used to develop strategic plans, providing overall direction for the organization. It may also identify causes and resources for implementing plans and ensuring their effective execution. The benefits of strategic management include a clear organizational direction, improved operations, enhanced resource efficiency, competitive advantage, and sustainable growth. Strategic management involves strategic analysis and planning, defining action plans, implementing those plans, and evaluating the results. Organizational survival refers to an organization's ability to operate continuously, adapt to changing environments over time, and build sustainability through efficient resource management, strategic decision-making, and the capacity to address internal and external challenges. An organization's survival strategy depends on adapting to survive under changing environmental conditions in the long term. Organizational survival factors include efficiency, resilience, and distinctiveness; innovation and competitive advantage; policy alignment; project cost control; growth; and competitive positioning. An organization's ability to survive includes the capacity to detect threats, plan for response, execute plans, maintain performance, and preserve efficiency. Business survival strategies include non-growth focused strategies, corrective strategies, and risk-focused strategies for emergencies. Strategies for achieving sustainable business survival include: 1) entrepreneurial adaptation strategies, 2) collaboration strategies, 3) modernizing processes and driving industry transformation, 4) upgrading local capabilities, 5) cost reduction strategies, 6) increasing sales strategies and 7) focusing on international markets.
