A NEEDS ASSESSMENT OF LEARNING ECOSYSTEM MANAGEMENT FOR DEVELOPING STUDENT ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Abstract
The objectives of this research were to investigate the current and desirable states and to conduct a needs assessment for managing the learning ecosystem to develop student entrepreneurship in secondary schools. The study employed a mixed-methods approach based on an exploratory sequential design, divided into two distinct phases. The first phase involved a synthesis of relevant literature and research to establish the conceptual framework and develop a rating-scale questionnaire. This instrument was piloted with a group of 30 school administrators and teachers (non-sample group) to evaluate its psychometric properties, yielding a reliability coefficient of 0.991 and a discrimination power of 0.867. In the second phase, data regarding current states, desirable states, and priority needs were collected from a sample of 525 participants across five regional inspection areas in Northeastern Thailand. The sample size was determined using the Krejcie and Morgan table.
The findings revealed that the management of learning ecosystems for developing student entrepreneurship comprises five components: (1) learning Policy, (2) entrepreneurship curriculum, (3) learning resources, (4) Way of learning, and (5) collaborative networks. The overall current condition of learning ecosystem management for developing student entrepreneurship in secondary schools was at a moderate level ( = 3.11), while the overall desirable condition was at a high level ( = 4.55). Component-wise analysis indicated that the two areas demonstrating the highest needs were learning resources and collaboration network (PNIModified = 0.47).
