Abstract

This study aimed to: 1) investigate the needs for a learning center to promote healthy organizations; 2) develop a pilot learning center for promoting healthy organizations; and 3) examine the operational outcomes of the pilot learning center for promoting healthy organizations. The study employed a research and development (R&D) methodology. Phase 1 focused on investigating the needs and guidelines for developing the learning center. Phase 2 involved the development of the pilot learning center, while Phase 3 emphasized implementation and evaluation. Qualitative data were collected through in-depth interviews and focus group discussions with 32 organizational representatives and experts. Quantitative data were collected using questionnaires from 152 participants. Data were analyzed using content analysis, and statistical analysis was conducted to determine the mean (M) and standard deviation (SD).

The results showed that:

  1. There is a need for a learning center in the form of an academic center that serves as a hub to promote and support the operation of integrated organizational well-being. It should be modern and up-to-date, utilizing technology in its management.

  2. Hybrid learning centers, which have both physical offices and online learning centers, are suitable and in line with these needs. The learning centers have three main roles: (1) being an academic resource for well-being organizations, (2) providing counseling and mentoring at work, and (3) being a space for learning exchange.

  3. Regarding the performance of the pilot learning centers for the promotion of well-being organizations, the satisfaction score was at the highest level (M = 4.29, SD = 0.51), and the knowledge gained was used to promote well-being in the organizations. In addition, there was an emergence of a learning network on well-being organizations that will be useful for further strengthening operations.
