THE INVOLVEMENT OF PARENTS AND TEACHERS IN THE EDUCATIONAL ADMINISTRATION OF MUNICIPAL EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT CENTERS IN NAKHON RATCHASIMA CITY

Abstract

This research aims to 1) study the level of parental and teacher participation in the educational administration of municipal early childhood development centers in Nakhon Ratchasima Municipality, and 2) compare the participation of parents and teachers in the educational administration of municipal early childhood development centers in Nakhon Ratchasima Municipality, classified by position, educational level, and size of the early childhood development center. 3) To find ways for parents and teachers to participate in the educational administration of municipal early childhood development centers in Nakhon Ratchasima City. The sample group used in this research consisted of 191 teachers and parents from municipal early childhood development centers in Nakhon Ratchasima City, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, during the 2025 academic year, divided into 15 teachers and 176 parents. The research instrument used was a 5-level Likert scale questionnaire. The level of consistency was determined using statistical methods for data analysis, including frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, and F-test.

          The research findings revealed (results according to the research objectives and hypothesis testing):

1. The overall participation of parents and teachers in the educational administration of municipal early childhood development centers in Nakhon Ratchasima Municipality was at a high level. When considering each aspect, it was found that: All aspects were practiced at a high level. The aspect with the highest average score was communication with schools, followed by volunteering, home-based childcare training, home-based learning, and participation in decision-making, respectively. The aspect with the lowest average score was collaboration with the community.


2. A comparison of opinions regarding the participation of parents and teachers in the administration of municipal early childhood development centers in Nakhon Ratchasima Municipality, categorized by position, showed statistically significant differences at the .05 level overall, except for home-based childcare training and school communication, which did not show significant differences. However, when categorized by educational level, there were statistically significant differences at the .05 level overall. Except for volunteering, home-based learning, participation in decision-making, and community collaboration, there were no significant differences. When categorized by school size, overall differences were statistically significant at the .05 level, except for volunteering, home-based learning, participation in decision-making, and community collaboration, which showed no significant differences.


3. Guidelines for parental and teacher participation in the administration of municipal early childhood development centers in Nakhon Ratchasima City consist of 6 areas: 1) Home-based childcare and training; 2) Communication with the school; 3) Volunteering; 4) Home-based learning;
