Abstract

This research study aimed to 1) compare English sentencewriting ability among Matthayomsuksa 1 students between before and after learning through the six writing steps technique, 2) develop academic achievement of Matthayomsuksa 1 students through the six writing steps technique, and 3) examine the satisfaction of Matthayomsuksa 1 students towards learning management through the six writing steps technique. The research samples were 31 Matthayomsuksa 1 students at Daonairoi School, Songkhla province, in semester 2 of academic year 2025, who were selected by cluster sampling method in the duration of 6 weeks, a total of 12 hours. The research instruments were 6 six-writing-steps lesson plans, a 20-item English sentence writing test, and a 5-scale questionnaire on satisfaction, 20 items. All instruments were validated to evaluate the Index of Item-Objective Congruence (IOC) by 3 experts. The statistics used for data analysis were mean, standard deviation, and dependent sample t-test.

The research findings revealed that 1) the English sentence writing ability of the students who learned through the six-writing-steps technique was improved; the post-mean score (ð‘ĨĖ… = 15.11) was higher than the pre-test score (ð‘ĨĖ… = 7.73) at the statistical significance level of .05. 2) The academic achievement of the students after learning through the technique (ð‘ĨĖ… = 3.05) was higher than before learning through it (ð‘ĨĖ… = 1.56), out of the total score of 4 at the statistical significance level of .05 in all aspects. 3) The results of the students satisfaction examination showed that the students were satisfied by learning through the six-writing-steps technique at the very good level holistically (ð‘ĨĖ… = 4.84), which indicated that the technique could develop the students’ English sentence writing ability and academic achievement effectively and could establish positive attitudes towards learning English well.
