PROCUREMENT MANAGEMENT USING AN INFORMATION SYSTEM IN SCHOOLS UNDER THE JURISDICTION OF THE BURIRAM PRIMARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE 2

Abstract

This research aims to 1) study the information system-based materials management of schools under the Buriram Primary Educational Service Area Office 2, and 2) compare the level of opinions of personnel regarding the information system-based materials management of schools under the Buriram Primary Educational Service Area Office 2, classified by educational level, work experience, and school size. 3) This research aimed to study the information system-based materials management practices of schools under the Buriram Primary Educational Service Area Office 2. The sample group consisted of 339 school administrators and teachers. The research instrument was a 5-level Likert scale questionnaire with a content validity index between 0.80 and 1.00. The reliability coefficient of the entire questionnaire was 0.90, and a semi-structured interview was used. Statistical analyses included frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, and F-test.

          The research findings revealed that:

1. The overall level of information system-based materials management in schools under the Buriram Primary Educational Service Area Office 2 was high.


2. A comparison of opinions regarding the information system management of school supplies in schools under the Buriram Primary Educational Service Area Office 2, categorized by educational level and school size, showed statistically significant differences at the .05 level. However, there were no significant differences overall or in specific aspects when categorized by work experience.


3. Guidelines for developing information system-based materials management in schools under the Buriram Primary Educational Service Area Office 2 comprise: 1) Information system processes; 2) Information system control, monitoring, and evaluation; 3) Management based on good governance principles; 4)Decentralization according to the school structure; 5) Use of technology in information system management; and 6) Access to information sources.
