Abstract

This research aimed to 1) evaluate the Master of Political Science Program (Revised Curriculum 2021) and the Doctor of Political Science Program (New Curriculum 2021), and 2) to develop and improve the Master of Political Science Program (Revised Curriculum 2021) and the Doctor of Political Science Program (New Curriculum 2021). This research was a mixed-method research, i.e., quantitative research by distributing questionnaires to a sample group of 64 students, who were selected by quota selection. The data were analyzed by using frequency distribution, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The qualitative research was conducted by conducting in-depth interviews with 18 key informants. The data were analyzed using content analysis techniques with context.

The findings revealed that the Master of Political Science Program (Revised Curriculum, B.E. 2564 [2021]) and the Doctor of Political Science Program (New Curriculum, B.E. 2564 [2021]) achieved the highest overall quality rating, with a total mean score of 4.56. When categorized by specific aspects and ranked from highest to lowest mean scores, students reported the greatest satisfaction with instructors (mean = 4.66), followed by measurement and evaluation (mean = 4.65), the promotion and development of desirable graduate attributes as intended by the curriculum (mean = 4.62), curriculum structure and design (mean = 4.60), overall instructional management (mean = 4.57), and learning materials, instructional documents, equipment, and learning facilities (mean = 4.28), respectively. These results reflect the strength of the programs in terms of academic personnel, instructional processes, and assessment systems. Although support resources received slightly lower scores compared to other aspects, they remained at a high level overall.

Regarding the development and improvement of both programs, the findings can be explained in three key dimensions: context, input factors, and operational processes. In terms of contextual alignment, the programs were found to be strategically consistent with the mission and vision of the university, as well as aligned with the philosophy and developmental direction of the Faculty of Social Sciences. Moreover, the curricula respond concretely to national needs in the areas of political governance and social development. Concerning input factors, the analysis indicated that the program objectives were designed to address both societal expectations and student needs. The course content is comprehensive and practically applicable. Faculty members and students possess appropriate qualifications, expertise, and relevant experience, and there is an effective support system
