Abstract

This article aims to (1) analyze the potential of cultural capital in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Sukhothai, and Suphan Buri provinces, and (2) synthesize a festival-based learning approach grounded in cultural capital within the context of social development. The study employs documentary research combined with conceptual synthesis, drawing upon academic literature, policy documents, and regional cultural data from the selected provinces. The findings indicate that local festivals represent a significant form of cultural capital that can be developed into a “social learning space,” systematically connecting historical knowledge, identity, and cultural diversity with students’ learning processes. An approach integrating Active Learning and Place-Based Learning demonstrates strong potential to enhance knowledge, process skills, and attitudes, while fostering awareness of cultural values within local communities. The article proposes a conceptual framework applicable at both institutional and community levels to support sustainable social development grounded in cultural heritage.
