PEOPLE'S BEHAVIOR TOWARDS LOCAL ELECTIONS IN TALAT KHWAN SUBDISTRICT, NONTHABURI PROVINCE

Abstract
This research aims to: 1) study the behavior of people towards local elections in Talat Khwan Subdistrict, Nonthaburi Province; 2) compare personal factor differences in relation to local election behavior; and 3) propose guidelines for promoting local election behavior. The study employed a quantitative research methodology, using questionnaires to collect data from a sample of 400 eligible voters in Talat Khwan Subdistrict. Data were analyzed using percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, and One-way ANOVA, with LSD for post-hoc pair comparisons.
The results revealed that: 1) Overall local election behavior was at a high level. The highest-ranked behavior was voter turnout, followed by rational candidate selection and monitoring of news and policies. 2) Comparative analysis showed that differences in gender, age, occupation, average monthly income, election experience, and duration of political activity monitoring significantly influenced local election behavior at a 0.05 level of significance. However, marital status and educational level showed no significant differences. 3) Guidelines for promoting local election behavior should focus on organizing public forums for policy vision, increasing accessible communication via digital platforms, and creating political engagement activities for youth and first-time voters to foster sustainable local political participation.
