FACTORS RELATED TO THE QUALITY OF LIFE AMONG PATIENTS WITH TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS AT BAN NARAPHIROM SUB-DISTRICT HEALTH PROMOTING HOSPITAL, NARAPIROM SUBDISTRICT, BANG LEN DISTRICT, NAKHON PATHOM PROVINCE

Abstract
The objectives of this study were to examine the level of quality of life among patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and to explore the relationship between personal factors namely gender, age, marital status, occupation, monthly income, educational level, duration of illness, comorbidities, motivation for preventing complications, and social support and their quality of life. The sample consisted of 146 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, with the sample size determined using Krejcie and Morgan’s formula. The research instrument was a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Chi-square test, and Pearson’s correlation coefficient, with a significance level set at 0.05.
The findings revealed that most patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus had a high level of quality of life (75.34%). Factors significantly associated with the quality of life were occupation and educational level (p < 0.05). Age showed a low negative correlation, while motivation for preventing complications showed a low positive correlation with the quality of life of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (r = -0.394 and 0.366, respectively; p < 0.05).
