PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION AFFECTING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF SUBDISTRICT ADMINISTRATIVE ORGANIZATIONS IN LAMPHUN PROVICE

Abstract

This study aimed to (1) examine the level of public affairs administration effectiveness of Subdistrict Administrative Organizations (SAOs) in Lamphun Province; (2) analyze administrative factors affecting the effectiveness of public affairs administration of SAOs in Lamphun Province; and (3) propose strategic guidelines for improving public affairs administration among SAOs in the area.      A mixed-methods research design was employed. The study population consisted of 116,491 individuals aged 18 years and over, residing within the administrative jurisdictions of SAOs in Lamphun Province. The sample size was determined using Yamane's formula, yielding a total of 400 participants. In addition, 18 key informants—including Presidents and Vice Presidents of SAOs—were interviewed. The research instruments included a five-point Likert scale questionnaire and a structured interview form. Quantitative data were analyzed using frequency distribution, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and multiple regression analysis. Qualitative data were analyzed using content analysis.

          The findings revealed that: 1) The overall level of public affairs administration effectiveness of SAOs in Lamphun Province was rated high; 2) Administrative factors and public affairs management showed statistically significant effects at the .05 level; and 3) Strategic guidelines for enhancing public affairs administration should include transparent disclosure of development information and sincere, straightforward administrative practices to promote effective governance and public trust.
