GUIDELINES FOR DEVELOPING WATER RESOURCES FOR PEOPLE IN THE AREA NONG OR SUBDISTRICT ADMINISTRATIVE ORGANIZATION SI SATCHANALAI DISTRICT SUKHOTHAI PROVINCE

Abstract

This research aims to (1) study the problems related to water resource development among residents in the Nong O Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Si Satchanalai District, Sukhothai Province, and (2) identify potential approaches for improving water resource development in the same area. The study employs a qualitative research methodology, involving in-depth interviews with 17 key informants divided into two groups: service providers and service recipients. Data were analyzed through synthesis and interpretation to derive key findings, which were presented descriptively.

          The results reveal several challenges in water resource development:

1. Personnel – although some collaboration and readiness exist, there is still a lack of specialized knowledge and sufficient manpower;


2. Budget – limited financial resources have led to project delays and reduced scope of operations;


3. Equipment and Materials – shortages of tools and machinery persist, mainly due to internal budget constraints;


4. Management – the administrative processes are complex, there is limited community participation, and resource distribution is uneven.
