THE EVALUATION OF AUTHENTICITY ESTABLISHES VIRTUE PROJECT IN WAT THA MUANG SCHOOL UNDER NAKHON SI THAMMARAT PRIMARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE 1

Abstract

This research aimed to 1) evaluate the objectives, 2) evaluate the teaching and learning management, and 3) evaluate the student outcomes of the “Honest School, Conquer with Virtue” project at Wat Tham Muang School, under the Nakhon Si Thammarat Primary Educational Service Area Office 1. The sample group consisted of 37 teachers and students in total. The qualitative data were obtained from 3 teachers. The research instruments included a five-point Likert scale questionnaire and an interview form. Data were analyzed using percentage, mean, standard deviation, and content analysis.

          The results revealed that

1. Evaluation of the objectives. Overall, the evaluation was at the highest level. When considered item by item, the item with the highest average score was: The project is appropriate for the students’ age and the school context, and can be connected to daily life. The item with the lowest average score was: The project has measurable and assessable objectives. However, the project demonstrates clarity and responds to the needs of the school, teachers, and students.


2. Evaluation of teaching and learning management according to the opinions of teachers and students was overall at the highest level. When considered item by item, the item with the highest average score was: Teachers used student-centered teaching methods and provided sufficient teaching materials and equipment to meet students’ needs. The item with the lowest average score was: Teachers used a variety of teaching methods appropriate to students. Teachers applied a variety of instructional techniques that emphasized the learning process over content, enabling students to connect knowledge or construct their own understanding through practical, hands-on learning.


3. Evaluation of student outcomes according to the opinions of teachers and students was overall at the highest level. When considered item by item, the item with the highest average score was: Students achieved the learning outcomes in the additional subject on anti-corruption according to school standards. They applied knowledge from the anti-corruption lessons in daily life, and behaved with shame and intolerance toward all forms of corruption. The item with the lowest average score was: Students were assessed and evaluated in accordance with learning standards, and demonstrated thinking process skills and reasoning in problem-solving.
