A STUDY ON DEVELOPMENT GUIDELINES OF COOPERATION BETWEEN NINGBO PORT, CHINA AND LAEM CHABANG PORT AUTHORITY OF THAILAND

Abstract
This research aimed to 1) study and analyze the roles of Laem Chabang Port, Thailand and Ningbo Port, People's Republic of China; 2) study the development guidelines for economic cooperation between Thailand and China; and 3) study the factors of entrepreneurs in Thailand and China in choosing to use maritime shipping services. It is survey research. The sample group for the questionnaire was 400 executives and those involved in the maritime logistics system. The group of informants for in-depth interviews was 6 port officials, shipping line representatives, and users of Laem Chabang and Ningbo Ports, who were purposively selected. The research instruments consisted of questionnaires and interview forms. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation.
The research results found that:
- Laem Chabang and Ningbo Ports play an important role in the international shipping system. With their strengths in strategic locations and the ability to accommodate large ships, this affects their competitiveness in logistics.
- The development of cooperation between the two ports should focus on linking logistics routes, exchanging technology, supporting trade, investment, and developing infrastructure.
- The factors of entrepreneurs in Thailand and China in choosing to use maritime shipping services were overall at a high level.
