BUILDING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITIES OF SURIN PRIMARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE 3

Abstract

This research aimed to: 1) study the level of relationship-building between schools and communities, 2) compare the relationship-building between schools and communities under the jurisdiction of the Surin Primary Educational Service Area Office 3, and 3) propose guidelines for enhancing school-community relationships. The sample group consisted of 475 school administrators and teachers. The research instrument was a five-point Likert scale questionnaire, with a reliability coefficient of .974. The statistical methods used included mean, standard deviation, t-test, and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA).

          The research findings revealed that:

          1) The overall level of relationship-building between schools and communities was found to be high, indicating that schools in the area have strong engagement with their communities.

          2) Regarding the comparison of school-community relationship-building: 2.1 Based on positions, school administrators demonstrated significantly higher levels of relationship-building with the community than teachers, at the .05 level of statistical significance. 2.2 There was no statistically significant difference in relationship-building levels based on other factors at the .05 level.

          3) The study suggests that regular joint activities between schools and communities should be organized to foster stronger collaboration.
