PARTICIPATORY MANAGEMENT OF SCHOOLS UNDER THE BUREAU OF PRIMARY EDUCATION AREA OFFICE, BUENG KAN

Abstract

This research aimed to: Investigate the participatory management practices of schools under the Bueng Kan Primary Educational Service Area Office;  Compare personnel’s opinions regarding participatory management in these schools, categorized by position, school size, and work experience; and Explore approaches for enhancing participatory school management in the same educational jurisdiction. The sample group consisted of 327 participants, including school administrators and teachers. The research instruments included a five-point Likert scale questionnaire—validated for content validity with an IOC ranging from 0.80 to 1.00 and a reliability coefficient of 0.80—and a structured interview. Data were analyzed using both descriptive statistics (frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation) and inferential statistics, such as the t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Scheffé’s post hoc test.

  Research Findings

  1.Overall, participatory management in schools under the Bueng Kan Primary Educational Service Area Office was rated at a high level.

  2.When opinions were analyzed by position, statistically significant differences were found at the .05 level. However, no significant differences were observed when categorized by school size or work experience, either overall or by specific aspect.

  3.Key recommendations for enhancing participatory management  include fostering an environment that actively encourages involvement from all personnel levels, promoting open communication and collaboration, and improving management effectiveness to sustainably achieve shared educational goals.
