THE STUDY OF TIME MANAGEMENT OF UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS IN THAILAND
Main Article Content
Abstract
Time management is the process of planning and controlling the use of time effectively to achieve academic goals. This research is a survey-based study with two objectives: 1) to examine the level of time management among students, and 2) to investigate the components of time management among undergraduate students in Thailand. The sample consisted of 450 undergraduate students selected through a multi-stage random sampling method. Time management inventory was employed to assess the data from the student, with content validity (CVI = 1) and reliability (α = 0.92). The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and confirmatory factor analysis.
The research findings revealed that:
1) The sample had an average level of time management, with mean scores ranging from 3.05 to 3.50. The variable with the highest mean score was "I spend a long time on unimportant tasks (PCT2)" with a mean of 3.50, while the variable with the lowest mean score was "I always keep my study desk clean after class (PO1)" with a mean of 3.05.
2) The components of time management consisted of four factors: setting goals and priorities, mechanic of time management, preference for organization, and perceived control of time.
