FOLLOWING THE FOOTSTEPS OF THE ARAHANTS
Main Article Content
Abstract
Buddhism is a religion of the cessation of suffering. It is the path of wisdom that leads all beings out of the cycle of rebirth to liberation. The highest goal of Buddhist practice is Nirvana, a state of complete freedom from defilements and suffering. Those who reach this state are called Arahants, meaning those who have destroyed all defilements and will never return to suffering again. Becoming an Arahant does not come from belief or prayer, but from practicing Dhamma correctly according to the Noble Eightfold Path, which is the main path that the Buddha discovered and announced to the world. This book, "Following the Arahant's Footsteps," is a collection of the core principles of Buddhism, which Buddhadasa Bhikkhu has clearly and simply conveyed so that readers can understand and put them into practice.
