The Journal of Interdisciplinary Social Development was established entirely through the editorial team’s own funding, without any financial support from government or private agencies. The primary source of income comes from article processing charges paid by authors, which are allocated to cover operational expenses of the institution and to maintain academic standards not for personal profit.
These expenses include honoraria for peer reviewers, annual and per-article fees for maintaining the ThaiJo database system, as well as costs for managing and disseminating articles to ensure quality and transparency.
A clear indication that the journal is not profit-oriented lies in its commitment to open access: all readers are able to access articles freely online without subscription fees. In addition, the journal maintains a policy of waiving publication fees for members of the editorial board and authors from low-income countries, while offering discounts for authors from lower-middle-income nations, thereby promoting equity and inclusivity in international scholarship.
Part of the journal’s revenue is allocated not for profit but to support scholarships for underprivileged students who lack financial resources, as well as to fund academic development activities, such as workshops, conferences, and research initiatives that benefit the wider community.
It is therefore evident that the Journal of Modern Academic Promotion and Development was founded with the clear intention of supporting knowledge creation and social development, not profit-seeking. All revenue is transparently used to sustain academic operations and reinvested for the common good.
