There are two types of death: kālamaraṇa (death at a predetermined time) and akālamaraṇa (unexpected death). Marananusati involves cultivating mindfulness of the inevitable death that will come to all, reflecting on its causes to induce mental calm and concentration. This practice fosters disenchantment with the body, leading to detachment from it, reducing defilements, and alleviating mental suffering.

Marananusati helps practitioners recognize the impermanence of life, contemplating aging, sickness, death, and separation as fundamental truths. By applying marananusati, one prevents heedlessness, overcomes defilements, and advances in the practice of Vipassana. Facing death with mindfulness prepares one to live virtuously, with wisdom, and unperturbed by fear. A purified mind, free from attachment, is mindful, aware, and leads to peace and happiness in daily life.
PhraPhawanaphisan methi , PhraKhrupalatdsamphiphat thanathammachan, Phrakhru Sangkharak Songphon Thammapalo Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Scholar Community https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://so12.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/watmahasawat_jsc/article/view/3165 Fri, 31 Oct 2025 00:00:00 +0700 The Role, Duties, and Powers of the Thai Constitutional Court and Their Impact on Democratic Governance https://so12.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/watmahasawat_jsc/article/view/3775
This academic article aims to analyze the role, duties, and powers of the Thai Constitutional Court and their impact on democratic governance from the establishment of the Thai Constitutional Court in 1997 to the present, through examining significant decisions and proactive involvement in political issues. The study reveals that the Constitutional Court has both positive and negative impacts on Thai democracy. On the positive side, the Court has served as a guardian of the Constitution and protector of citizens' rights and freedoms, enhancing understanding of the rule of law, controlling the constitutionality of laws and actions of various state organizations, and functioning as an important mechanism for checking and balancing state power. On the negative side, the proactive use of power in various issues has resulted in political conflicts and criticism regarding the expansion of authority beyond constitutional limits. The Court has become part of the "judicial activism" system, leading to "juristocracy," where judicial power has expanded beyond the legislative and executive branches.

The study highlights the necessity for structural, role, and compositional reforms to strengthen the Constitutional Court's connection with citizens and align it more closely with democratic principles. Reforms should encompass improving the judicial selection process to enhance citizen participation, clearly defining jurisdictional boundaries limited to legal matters, establishing effective control and oversight mechanisms, and enhancing fair adjudication procedures. These changes aim to restore the Constitutional Court to its original role as a genuine guardian of the Constitution and protector of citizens' rights and freedoms, rather than serving as a political tool or arbiter of political conflicts.
chalermchai narasri, Naramit Sanorseang , Nawat Khatmalasri , Apichat Sujimongkolm , Sukaphat Anonchan Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Scholar Community https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://so12.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/watmahasawat_jsc/article/view/3775 Fri, 31 Oct 2025 00:00:00 +0700 Personality and Social Associations in the Views of International Exchange Students https://so12.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/watmahasawat_jsc/article/view/2299
This article examines the dynamic interplay between personality and social associations, asserting that personality is neither purely innate nor entirely socially constructed, but emerges from the ongoing interaction between the individual and their sociocultural environment. Drawing on theories from psychology, sociology, and anthropology, this study explores how personality is shaped by cultural values, social groups, and adaptive responses to new environments. Using comparative examples from Thailand, Myanmar, and Western cultures—supplemented by the perspectives of international exchange students—the paper highlights how individuals adjust their behavior and identity in response to different social expectations. The findings emphasize the importance of self-awareness and adaptability in thriving within multicultural contexts. Ultimately, the paper contributes a nuanced understanding of how personality development is influenced by cross-cultural experiences and sociocultural integration.
Toe Oo Wai Yan, Paing Phyo Thu , Raajshivar Saetan Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Scholar Community https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://so12.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/watmahasawat_jsc/article/view/2299 Fri, 31 Oct 2025 00:00:00 +0700 Active Learning Integrating Physical Education Learning Management Using Active Learning to Promote Emotional Intelligence of Upper Primary School Students: Competitive Experience in Basic Sports Skills (Amateur Boxing) National Student Arts and Crafts Fair https://so12.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/watmahasawat_jsc/article/view/1842
The objectives of this research article were: 1) to integrating physical education learning management using active learning to promote emotional intelligence of upper primary school students: experience of competing in basic sports skills (amateur boxing), student arts and crafts, and 2) to present an approach to integrating physical education learning management using active learning to promote emotional intelligence of students. Through in-depth interviews and focus group discussions, the research constructs a theoretical model of “Film Space – Cultural Identity – Communication Pathways.” The findings reveal that film space serves as a vital medium for urban cultural transmission. It not only evokes audience memory and emotional resonance through visual representation but also expands its cultural influence via new media platforms such as short videos. In the in-depth interviews, respondents emphasized how the spatial imagery of the Astor House Hotel in various films enhanced the transmission of urban cultural memory. In contrast, the focus group participants paid greater attention to the interplay between cinematic narratives and urban space, as well as the guiding effect of short video content on audience perception. Based on the empirical findings, the study proposes a three-tiered communication strategy—historical symbol embedding, media narrative synergy, and user engagement activation. Furthermore, this research contributes to the expansion of existing communication theories by highlighting the interaction between film space and urban cultural construction. Despite limitations such as a small sample size and strong case dependency, the study offers fresh perspectives and practical implications for urban cultural communication and related theoretical development.
Minzhi Xie , Somsak Klaysung Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Scholar Community https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://so12.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/watmahasawat_jsc/article/view/3728 Fri, 31 Oct 2025 00:00:00 +0700
