PARTICIPATORY MANAGEMENT OF SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS UNDER THE SECONDARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE ROI ET

Abstract
The objectives of this research were: (1) to study participatory management practices of school administrators under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office Roi Et; (2) to compare participatory management practices of school administrators under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office Roi Et; and (3) to identify participatory management guidelines for school administrators under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office Roi Et.
The sample group consisted of 365 participants, including school administrators and government teachers under the aforementioned office. Research instruments included a 5-point Likert scale questionnaire and a semi-structured interview. The index of item-objective congruence ranged from 0.8 to 1.0, and the overall reliability coefficient of the questionnaire was 0.905. Data were analysed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, and F-test.
The research findings were as follows:
1) Overall, the level of participatory management among school administrators was at the highest level. When considering individual aspects, the highest mean score was found in “joint goal setting”, while the lowest was in “commitment”.
2) The comparison of participatory management according to position showed a statistically significant difference at the .05 level, consistent with the set hypothesis.
3) The synthesis of participatory management guidelines from interviews revealed that school administrators should be encouraged to enhance participatory management in all four dimensions.
